This instructional program prepares users to install and test telephone and cable television wiring and equipment. Students explore a variety of job tasks in installing, connecting, and testing telephone and cable television wiring and equipment, using professional materials and methods. This job sample provides an understanding of job environment and an assessment of interest and ability as a telephone & cable television installer.

  • Fundamentals
    1. Connect a telephone wire to a wire block by stripping wires and screwing them into color-coded terminals.
    2. Run a ground wire from the connector block to a pre-installed section of pipe and clamp it on with a grounding clamp.
    3. Strip, connect, and run wire from the connector block to an outlet box.
    4. Staple the wiring to the stud frame wall.
    5. Install a modular jack and mounting plate.
    6. Test the completed circuit with a test handset.

3-ring instruction holder, side cutter pliers, test handset, needle-nose pliers, screwdriver, adjustable wire stripper, crimper, wiring block, staple gun, tool pouch, ground clamp, connecting block, modular wall jack with wall plate, tone generator, and coaxial cable wall plate

All consumable materials for 50 users are included with workstation.
